BART HQ and politicians in Sacramento had a lot to say when the system was down. Did they really think that people who couldn’t get home from work or get to work or other places Friday morning don’t understand the value of a reliable public transit system?
It’s an insult that the response of those who have a media platform used this massive inconvenience to campaign to increase local sales tax to help pay for local public transit. Most riders pay their fair share. It’s time for the corporations to pay.
They have benefitted, in many ways, from BART’s existence.
