Workplace Newsletters

We publish the following workplace newsletter every two weeks. They are one of the tools we use to build networks in the workplaces. They consist of a two-sided leaflet that is distributed at the workplace. One side is a general editorial, and on the other side are short articles about the workplace or general issues of concern to workers, written by and with workers from the workplace. Our goal is to reflect the daily concerns of the workers — to provide a way to break the isolation many of us feel. It also serves to transmit a revolutionary perspective as well — that we have the possibility and necessity of going beyond the limits that capitalism imposes on us. The newsletter also provides workers with a regular activity towards their workplace beyond simply participating in their unions (if they happen to be in one).

Unions are Not Enough — This is Class War
Unions are a tool to defend against the daily attacks in the workplace. But they do not oppose the capitalist system that is organized against the interests of working people, and that owns and controls the banks and corporations and holds the majority of the wealth of society. They know their class interests: production for profit. Their political system exists to manage the overall interests of their class. We need to understand our class interests and the power we have. This is why unions are not enough. To stand up for what we need, we must find ways to exercise our power as a class. This requires building organizations of workers throughout society to defend our interests. Our workplace newsletters are just one tool we use to do this work.
